15 years ago, you could walk into a meeting with almost ANY idea for a website… and walk away with $15 million in venture capital backing to promote your idea through billboards, TV and radio.

10 years ago, traffic generation meant posting your site to newsgroups, classified ad sites, and free-for-all links. If people didn’t buy on the first click, heck, there was something wrong with them!

7 years ago, before Yahoo acquired Goto.com, you could buy clicks for 1 cent a piece… get #1 listings in Google just by writing quality meta tags… and – gasp – your newsletters and e-mails would actually get delivered AND read, without worrying about content filters or Facebook eating away your audience’s attention.

4 years ago… early AdSense pioneers could make $100/day simply throwing up junk blogs and playing arbitrage against AdWords costs. There were 3 good product launches a year, and less than a handful of ‘household names’ in small business IM. Nowadays, there are 3 new names with 3 new products every week… and the marketing is more aggressive than ever.

Last year, CPA offers and negative billing was the path to a 7 figure income. This year, you’re more likely to get a knock on the door from the FTC!

What’s all this mean?

It means, marketing online changes fast. What worked yesterday, might not work today. If you’re still using promo techniques that are years or even just months out of date… you’re a dinosaur waiting for the next ‘Ice Age’ to wipe you into extinction. Imagine waking up tomorrow and finding that the traffic has dried up, and the sources you’re relying on to supply it, no longer can.

What would you do? How would you adapt?

There’s more money than ever to be made online… but that are also *far* more people competing for the pie. Today’s web is much more open and dynamic than ever. Niches are discovered quicker, search engine algorithms exploited, statistics and keywords analyzed and taken advantage of faster than ever before… and if you’re not plugged into the community of pioneers ready to teach you what’s working for them TODAY… you’re giving away your profits to someone who is.

That’s why, I absolutely recommend visiting a top Internet Marketing seminar *at least* once per year. There’s no better place to keep your finger on the pulse, and learn from the best.

The problem, of course, is that GOOD seminars are EXPENSIVE.

With entry fees of $3K or more… airfare… hotels… dinners and extra curricular networking events… and time away from your office… it’s an easy $5-7K you’re dropping just to be there.

If you can afford it – GREAT. It’s worth every penny, and I’d thoroughly recommend it.

But flying to the other side of the world and dropping precious cash in these uncertain times with no guarantee of an immediate return… is the reason why seminar attendance worldwide is dropping to lower-than-ever levels.

That’s why I absolutely, 100% endorse and recommend the event that Ian del Carmen and Lee Benson are hosting this year.

What they’ve done is put together a group of 15 of the best Internet marketers in the world today… with a combined annual wealth of over $30,000,000… and they’re bringing them DIRECTLY TO YOUR BROWSER!

You can watch their presentations online directly from your computer, without ever leaving your seat.

And because the content is streamed to you over your Internet connection vs. hiring a room at an expensive hotel, they’ve managed to slash the ticket price to a RIDICULOUSLY low level, whilst keeping the content on par with a $3-5K seminar.

With over 15 hours of pure content from the likes of…

- Russell Brunson
- Joel Comm
- Willie Crawford
- Jacqui Harris
- John Jonas
- Kevin Riley
- Soren Jordansen & Cindy Battye
- David Gale
- Steve Yakim

… This is set to be the the year’s greatest marketing event… and you won’t even have to leave home!

For most of the search engines meta tags are not required to index your site, but to be in a safer side its better that you optimize your website for all the search engines. There is no much work involved or special talent needed to create a meta tag, there are few guide lines which you have to follow in order to make your webpage’s meta tags effective.

So first let me brush up some basic info about META Keyword Tags…

Meta Keyword tag is a HTML tag which is used to supply keywords to search engine spiders (or robots). It mainly helps the spiders to determine your webpage and you will find the META Keyword tag below the HEAD tag which looks something like this:

<meta name=”keywords” content=“Your Keyword1, Your Keyword2”>

Nowadays META keyword tag has lost its value, search engines have become smarter these days. They have set their algorithms and some other formulas to identify web pages with their relevancies. But still there is no harm in utilizing this tag if you are planning for better results.

The problem is many search engines find it very difficult in indexing dynamic websites, but there is always a solution for any problem.

Initially you need to understand why search engines are unable to read dynamically generated websites.

 1. Dynamic webpages doesn’t exist on server physically.
2. They have complex URLs such as “ http://www.example.com?name=value&blabla%blabla@session_id@2226897&blabla=77″ . Special characters like “?”, “=”, “@”, “%”, “$”, “*”, “&”, “! are not understood by robots or spiders.
3. Search engines consider these dynamic website as group of never ending links.
4. Search engine crawlers will get stuck in an loop, specially if the dynamic website has session id’s.

 1. First create a HTML sitemap with less than 100 text links in it. If the site has more than 100 links, then break the sitemap into two or more accordingly.
2. Start building inbound links to other pages of the website from other relevant websites such as directories etc.
3. With the help of URL re-writing techniques convert dynamic web pages into static web pages.
4. Use some plug-in that will change the existing dynamic URLs into static ones.
5. Must avoid using session IDs in the URL.
6. If you are including parameters, limit it to just two and limit the number of characters per parameter to less than ten.

Stay tuned for URL rewriting tools in my next post.

What is a blog? What are its uses? Why it is so popular?

These are the questions which most of the people ask me. So first let me tell you what a blog exactly is….

A blog is a short word representing “Weblog”. It is an online journal usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of business news or some events or personal things which they like to share with the world. In my opinion it is an interactive media to share thoughts, where authors and readers can interact with each other on single platform.

The person who writes blog entries is known as blogger. Blogs have become very popular nowadays, people mainly use it to share the word that they know. It has become a successful and dynamic profession internally, there are some specific bloggers who have become most popular in blogging. Bloggers enjoy blogging for reasons such as staying in touch with friends, expressing themselves or keeping a record of important events.

Many people even make money through blogging. So if you are interested in starting a blog of your own then there are many tools and services to help you out. The popular services are Blogger.com and WordPress.com

Just visit any of the website mentioned above and START BLOGGING!!!

Though some SEO experts feel that META description is no longer important, it his highly advisable to have it anyway because there are many other search engines that utilize this feature to display your website details in the search results page.

By taking time and writing a proper META description, you will not only get good rankings but also make sense to the visitors even BEFORE they visit your website.

Write your META description tag below your META title tag. Do not go overboard here and add a series of keywords. Write for the visitors. Give a brief benefit of what the visitor is going to find on your web page.

Make sure your META description is less than 200 characters in length because it may get truncated.
