____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Connection

Everyone desires connection to ourselves, to others, to our work, to the moment, to God or higher energy or purpose. When we feel disconnected, we feel confused, unsatisfied or lonely. That’s why we always emphasize mindfulness, relationships and positive community in Live-Limitless.

2. Knowledge Vs. Wisdom

Knowledge is making the right choice with all the information.

Wisdom is making the right choice without all the information.

Source: James Clear

3. Who’s the Hero?

You are not the hero. Make your audience your hero. You are the guide who helps your audience become the hero.

_____________

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. Survivor Bias

You see many new unicorns popping up every day. You think entrepreneurship must be really awesome. We assume that the stories of those who survived are the entire story because the “dead” aren’t there to speak. There could be many who didn’t even complete a year or two.

2. IKEA Effect

People place a higher value on things that they have worked to create or build. They go to any length to prove their affinity. This is called the IKEA effect because they sell “DIY” projects that you bring home and assemble yourself — “Isn’t the table awesome? I built it.”

1 Critical Question to Ask Yourself

Live Limitless: Teaching, Cut Documents, Mistakes, Certainty Effect & Dog & Elephant Story!

____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Teaching

You don’t even have to be the world’s topmost expert in order to teach others. Expertise, knowledge, skills and competence… are all relative. There will always be someone with more knowledge, expertise or abilities than you. However, you are still valuable to people who are not at your level. Teach them.

2. Cut Every Document in Half

At least half of every document is clear. The problem? The other half. The even slightly fuzzy parts make your reader second-guess the clear parts. The fuzzy part seems to contradict the clear part – or does it? The solution is simple and easy. Cut every document in half.

3. Mistakes

Admit them. The heart of a great relationship is trust. Admitting mistakes is among the fastest ways to build it.

_____________

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. Dog & the Elephant

An elephant and a dog became pregnant at the same time.

Three months down the line the dog gave birth to six puppies.

Six months later the dog was pregnant again, and two months later it gave birth to other half-a-dozen puppies.

The pattern continued.

On the eighteenth month, the dog approached the elephant questioning,

“Are you sure that you are pregnant? We became pregnant during the same time, I have given birth three times to a dozen puppies and they are now grown to become big dogs, yet you are still pregnant. What’s going on?”.

The elephant replied, “There is something I want you to understand. What I am carrying is not a puppy but an elephant. I only give birth to one in two years. When my baby hits the ground, the earth feels it. When my baby crosses the road, human beings stop and watch in admiration, what I carry draws attention. So what I’m carrying is mighty and great.”

Now, there are people who are expecting you to be a dog.

But be who you are… Be the elephant… Change the people around you but not yourself…

Getting something worth is far better than getting multiple worthless things.

Credits: Charles Junior

2. The ‘Certainty’ Effect

Customers and more likely to buy when they feel like there’s no risk to them.

Whenever possible add a guarantee to make them feel confident in their purchase.

Reduce risks and increase certainty.

____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Social Pressure

If you want to take something more seriously, do it publicly. Publishing an article pressure you to think clearly. Competing in race pressure you to train consistently. Presenting on any topic pressures you to learn it. Social pressure forces you to up your game.

Source: James Clear, Atomic Habits

2. People Pleaser

You don’t need everyone to agree with you or even like you. It’s human nature to want to belong, to be liked, respected, and valued, but not at the expense of your integrity and happiness. Others cannot give you the validation you seek. Speak up, be assertive when needed, demand respect, and stay true to your values, because this is what you need to do to stop being a people pleaser.

3. Life Plan

Life teaches us lessons to prove us wrong by throwing weird obstacles in our path. You don’t have to live your life strictly according to plan. The best part about life is… there’s no plan. You can spend your days creating plans only to have a random thing thrown at you. Learn to adapt and go with the flow. Most planning is only preparation. Prepare, but be open-minded and flexible.

_____________

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. Domino’s is not a pizza delivery company

What is it then? Domino’s got rid of its 49-year-old recipe (see domino’s turnaround story) and adopted the new digital transformation to become a supply chain technology company. As of 2019, they opened 3 new stores every day.

They have innovated all through the way. In 2008, Domino’s launched its “Pizza Tracker” technology, in 2011 the new iPhone app that allowed customers to order on the go, in 2016 they shocked the world with the first-ever drone delivery in New Zealand and in 2020 Domino’s launched “Car-side Delivery” and “Train Delivery” in India. With more than half its workforce at headquarters in software and analytics, do you think Domino’s is a pizza delivery company?

2. The Ferrari Formula

Did you know that you cannot buy a new Ferrari unless you prove that you are a previous owner? Ferrari took its exclusivity to the extent that even if a billionaire showed up to buy a Ferrari, the company will refuse to sell to them if they feel that their profile does not meet its qualification levels.

Veblen Effect is a 200-year-old theory about abnormal market behavior where consumers purchase the higher-priced goods even when similar low-priced (but not identical) substitutes are available.

Live Limitless: Willingness Bug, Greater Fool Theory, Adidas Logo Story, Dabur Ad, and Our Deepest Fears!!

read on LIFELETTER.RAAMANAND.COM   |   JUNE 25, 2022

____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Willingness Bug – Most people think of ‘willingness’ as a condition or a viewpoint when it really is ‘action.’ When a person is willing, they act. Where there is a will, there’s a way… AND an action to go along the way. Be willing.

2. The Greater Fool Theory – Bill Gates said he thinks cryptocurrencies and NFTs are 100% based on the Greater Fool Theory.

The greater fool theory of economics suggests that it doesn’t matter at what price you buy an asset, so long as there is some “greater fool” out there who will buy it for more.

3. Dabur Vatika Ad – A TV commercial for the brand showed a bald woman who had just recovered from cancer. The ad says, “some people don’t need hair to look beautiful.” This is storytelling to create an emotional bond with the audience. Emotional branding creates a deeper connection that separates it from the rest, building brand loyalty over time.

_____________

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. Adidas Logo

Adidas logo developed its famous three strips from the founder Karhu Sports, who was short on capital post-WW-II. The owners decided to sell the trademark to their logo for $1600 and two bottles of whiskey.

2. Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frighten us.

We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous”?

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Source: Marianne Williamson from ‘A Return to Love’ (sometimes incorrectly attributed to Nelson Mandela)

Raam’s notes – I have found this piece of prose invaluable when working one on one with someone who has lost their way, feels small, or doubts the contribution they are making.

Nutritionists won’t make you slim.

Teachers won’t make you smart.

Gurus won’t make you calm.

Mentors won’t make you rich.

2. Mansons Law – The more something threatens your identity, the more you’ll avoid it.

3. Consistency – The red and white Coca-Cola logo is recognized by 94% of the world’s population. Say, staying consistent pays well.

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. Amazon Tip

It’s said that Amazon employees spend two days every two years working at the customer service desk — even the CEO — in order to help all workers understand the customer service process.

2. Happy Birthday Song!

Warner Music owns the copyrights to “Happy Birthday,” so it’s technically owed royalties every time you sing it to someone on their big day. And, you can own a copyright too… by writing you own book 🙂

Live Limitless: Using ‘BUT’, Before Purpose, Problem Solving and Big Decisions!

read on LIFELETTER.RAAMANAND.COM   |   MAY 21, 2022

____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Using ‘But’ correctly – Imagine you make your sweetie dinner, she twists her mouth upon first bite, grins and says: “You’re such a horrible cook!”

Supposedly cute, but still stings, right?

Now, imagine instead, she’d say: “You’re such a horrible cook…but at least you’re funny!”

Feels entirely different, doesn’t it? That’s because using “but” after any negative statement allows you to smooth out the minus with a plus, get the other person to focus on the upside and view your relationship in a different light.

2. Unforgettable Jim Rohn – My favorite way that Jim Rohn suggests we seek learning is by spending time with wealthy people. Offer to take someone to lunch who is where you want to be someday and spend that time asking them questions. You might know the habits of successful people by heart, but hearing them from wealthy people themselves is a whole different experience that will change the way you see the world. Investing the time and money this and these other techniques requires will have long-lasting effects for good in your life.

3. Problem Solving – It’s crazy how often I feel like I need to resolve some big problem in my life when all I really need is one of the following:

1. A glass of water
2. A 10-minute walk outside
3. A good night of sleep

Three simple things that resolve many of the stresses and anxieties of daily life.

Source: James Clear, Atomic Habits

_____________

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. Before Purpose

Abraham Maslow says, “to even begin following your purpose, you must first meet your basic needs and work your way up the pyramid. The first category of needs you ought to fulfill is your physiological needs, like air, water, reproduction, shelter, and so on.”

2. Big Decisions

Spend more time making the big decisions. There are basically three really big decisions you make in your early life: where you live, who you’re with, and what you do.

Source: Naval Ravikant

____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Start now, Optimize later – An imperfect start can always be improved, but obsessing over a perfect plan will never take you anywhere on its own.

2. Your Actions – You know yourself mostly by your thoughts. Everyone else in the world knows you only by your actions. Remember this when you feel misunderstood. You have to do or say something for others to know how you feel.

3. Costs – The costs of your good habits are in the present. The costs of your bad habits are in the future.

Source: James Clear, Atomic Habits.

_____________

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. Expert Empire

Turn your ideas, wisdom, knowledge, insights, and expertise into high-paying products and services and create a profitable business around your expertise. The best way is to start by writing a book on your expertise.

2. Branson’s Legacy

Sir Richard Branson has built his life and business on his characteristic flair: fun, excitement, and boldness.

Yet, at the same time, he has carefully and methodically mitigated the downsides of his endless experimentation, improvisation, and risk-taking.

His legacy shows that business success and business failure are two sides of the same coin: as Branson would say, it’s all part of the fun of being an entrepreneur.

Raam’s Notes: How will you have fun in building your business? What experiments will you run? How will you take smart risks?

____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Success Tax – If you want to be successful be willing to pay the ‘Success Tax’ in the form of naysayers, tire-kickers and critics who come along and tell you all sorts of things to bust your dreams.

2. CTA – One of the biggest hindrances to business success is that we think customers can read our minds. It’s obvious to us that we want them to place an order, so we assume it’s obvious to them too. It isn’t. You must give a Call-To-Action (CTA) to get them to… well, take action.

3. Fear

Fear is an assumption of pain.

Fear is bad management of the mind.

_____________

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. F.I.R.S.T Principle.

How to really understand people? Follow this model:

Future Vision – What do they expect to happen (expectations).

Interests – Understand people by understanding what they are interested in and what excites them the most.

Resources – What resources they have and what resources they need?

Stories – What are the stories they have told themselves about the situation (world)? What do they know about the topic?

Time-focus – What is in their focus right now? Where are their efforts going?

2. The Lost Key

It’s dusk and a man is on his knees searching under a streetlight for the keys he has dropped. He is joined by his neighbour who helps him search and asks “Where exactly did you drop them?” “Oh, I dropped them in my back garden,” replies the man, “but I am looking for them here because the light is so much better.”

Raam’s notes -I first heard this story decades ago, listening to an audio CD of Dr Wayne Dyer who asked us to consider why, when the problem lies inside, we look to the outside for the solution… ?

____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Tiny Habit – If you pick the right small behavior and sequence it right, then you won’t have to motivate yourself to have it grow. It will just happen naturally, like a good seed planted in a good spot.

Source: BJ Fogg

2. Inspiration Room – Your environment sets the mood and tone for you. If you are living in an inspirational environment, you are going to be inspired every day.

If there’s a room in your house that looks messy or dull, take it to the next level by putting on a new coat of paint, buying a few nice paintings for the walls, or investing in some comfortable furniture to make it a space that will always feel welcoming and inspiring.

3. Blind Spots – Scientifically, blind spots refer to areas our eyes are not capable of seeing. In personal development terms, blind spots are things about ourselves we are unaware of. Discovering our blind spots helps us discover our areas of improvement.

One exercise I use to discover my blind spots is to identify all the things/events/people that trigger me in a day—trigger meaning making me feel annoyed, frustrated, or angry. These represent my blind spots.

Once I know these triggers, I can identify ways to improve them or overcome them.

_____________

1. Confessions of a Spiritual Dickhead.

Hotchkiss, a one time fast-living New York fashion editor, chronicles his attempt to address a deep-seated feeling of existential unworthiness through assorted trendy modern means — ayahuasca, transcendental meditation, a shaman-led “soul retrieval” — only to discover that his spiritual seeking is itself a form of avoidance. When he finally chucks all the Goop-y stuff and gets to the heart of what’s really been bothering him, you catch a glimpse of something you don’t often see: an honest, open, humbled human being settling into an uneasy peace with his frail, flawed, but ultimately plenty good-enough self.

Source: Sean Hotchkiss

2. James Clear.

How to Be Unhappy:

-stay inside all day
-move as little as possible
-spend more than you earn
-take yourself (and life) too seriously
-look for reasons why things won’t work
-always consume, never contribute
-resent the lucky and successful
-never say hello first
-be unreliable

Invert for happiness:

-get outside each day
-move: walk, exercise, dance
-spend less than you earn
-view life as play
-be the one who looks for solutions
-develop a bias to contribute and create
-learn from the lucky and successful
-be the first to say hello
-be reliable

Live Limitless: Roikov Effect, Habit Q, Obstacles and Happiness for Life!

read on LIFELETTER.RAAMANAND.COM   |   APRIL 23, 2022

____________

3 Big Ideas, Tips or Strategies for this week

1. Try This Strategy – Instead of BE -> Do -> Have (rat race) try Feel -> Do -> Be

How to do want to feel? Start feeling that feeling (imagination)

What can you “do” in order have that feeling in reality? (action/strategy)

Who are you going to “be”? (identity)

2. Roikov Effect – Raikov is a technique of Hypnosis that is used to modify the frequency of mind and set it to another level using the Hypnosis Trance. It was introduced in the 1970s, by a Russian brain scientist, Vladimir Raikov.

The Raikov effect is a type of neuroscience, which uses brain techniques to increase the power of your mind and enhances your abilities in certain areas like sports, business, improving mental abilities, and many more, in order to help you enhance your personality and character traits.

In layman’s term, this effect increases your attributes quality in order to make you better at everything, using the series of brain techniques that trigger the specific neurons in your brain that executes in a certain way which stimulates your brain cells and trains it to become better at everything.

These brain techniques are used to create the Raikov effect, which includes modelling, hypnosis, deep trance states, visualization, positive thinking, suggestions, and believing power. These techniques are known as the best strategies that have brought amazing results in improving brain power throughout the years.

The course of Raikov effect is specially designed to help you gather the attributes, or in other way, imitate the way others are thinking and doing things. As it helps you to observe and understand how others work on different things, so that you can adapt their strength and use it wisely in your life.

3. Habit Question – “How long does it take to build a habit?

21 days? 30 days? 66 days?

The honest answer is: forever. Because once you stop doing it, it is no longer a habit.

A habit is a lifestyle to be lived, not a finish line to be crossed. Make small, sustainable changes you can stick with.”

2 Stories, Quotes, or Case-Studies for this week

1. Obstacle in our path.

There once was a very wealthy and curious king. This king had a huge boulder placed in the middle of a road. Then he hid nearby to see if anyone would try to remove the gigantic rock from the road.

The first people to pass by were some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers. Rather than moving it, they simply walked around it. A few loudly blamed the King for not maintaining the roads. Not one of them tried to move the boulder.

Finally, a peasant came along. His arms were full of vegetables. When he got near the boulder, rather than simply walking around it as the others had, the peasant put down his load and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. It took a lot of effort but he finally succeeded.

The peasant gathered up his load and was ready to go on his way when he say a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The peasant opened the purse. The purse was stuffed full of gold coins and a note from the king. The king’s note said the purse’s gold was a reward for moving the boulder from the road.

The king showed the peasant what many of us never understand: every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

2. Happiness for life!

“If you want happiness for an hour — take a nap. If you want happiness for a day — go fishing. If you want happiness for a year — inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a life time — help someone else.” — Chinese proverb

Happiness isn’t something that’s achieved, it’s a skill that’s cultivated and practiced daily. Its mastery comes from serving others.
