If you don’t challenge the status quo, you’ll be held back by the boundaries set by others.
Embrace curiosity, experimentation and exploration. It’s better to be limited by what you can achieve by yourself than by the limits that others have set for you.
3. Self-doubt
When J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter, faced rejection from multiple publishers before finally getting her book series accepted and published. She received countless rejections and faced moments of self-doubt, but she didn’t give up and went on to become one of the most successful authors of all time. This demonstrates that true success comes from pushing through the moments of self-doubt and persevering in the face of rejection.
We all have moments of self-doubt, but true success is forged through the ability to push through them. Don’t let fear hold you back, take action and chase your dreams relentlessly.

1. Tammie, Quick Thinking
April 17, 2018, Flight 1380 is flying from New York to Dallas. Tammie Jo Shults, aged 56, a former United States Navy fighter pilot, is the captain of the flight. Suddenly, an engine fan blade on the Boeing 737 failed and flying debris damaged the left side of the fuselage and one side window; the window cracked, causing the plane to decompress.
Despite the extreme and dangerous situation, Shults remains calm and composed, and safely lands the plane and evacuates all passengers, despite facing significant challenges like a damaged cockpit windshield and a sudden drop in cabin pressure.
Captain Tammie Jo Shults is not a celebrity, but her quick thinking, steady hand and her cool demeanor under pressure saved the lives of 148 people on board.
2. Nirmal Purja, Climbing Everest
Meet Nirmal Purja, a Nepalese mountaineer who, in a span of just six months, climbed all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks, including Mount Everest in 2019. This is considered one of the most impressive feats in mountaineering history.
What sets Nirmal’s accomplishment apart is his approach to safety and planning. Prior to his attempt, he spent months training and preparing, including acclimatising to high altitudes and practicing with the equipment he would use on the climb. He also assembled a team of experienced sherpas and guides who were familiar with the routes, and he made sure to have proper communication and emergency equipment in place.
This shows the importance of proper planning and preparation when undertaking an adventure sport like mountaineering, and how it can be a key factor in ensuring a successful and safe outcome.
